A&L Goodbody announces partnership with Simon Community NI

Corporate law firm A&L Goodbody (ALG) has announced a new partnership with homelessness charity Simon Community NI.

As the leading homelessness charity in Northern Ireland, Simon Community NI believes everyone should have a place they call home. Its teams, located in Belfast and throughout NI, make this possible for thousands of clients every year.  The charity offers specialist support services including homelessness prevention, accommodation services, health, well-being and practice development and young people's support services.

Michael Neill, Head of Office at ALG in Northern Ireland, explained how the firm’s 140-strong team in Belfast will support the charity through the partnership:  “Alongside the array of creative fundraising activities typically expected with such partnerships, our employees will have the opportunity to create meaningful impact by volunteering their time and providing their legal expertise on a pro bono basis to support Simon Community NI and its clients.”

Brian Shanks, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Simon Community NI welcomed the new partnership, saying: “Corporate, charity partnerships play a really important role in supporting Simon Community in our efforts to end homelessness in Northern Ireland.

“Through a combination of fundraising, volunteering and pro bono they can help us in a variety of ways to effectively impact our work. We are excited to partner with a well-known and prestigious legal firm such as A&L Goodbody and look forward to exploring potential opportunities to work together over the coming months.”

According to Mr Neill, investing in its CSR strategy through partnerships of this nature is central to ALG’s culture. “ALG has always been committed to investing in the passions and interests of our employees and clients – be they in sport, arts and culture, or charitable and community endeavours,” he said.

“Through our CSR programme, we have been proud to partner with several charities and social enterprises working across Northern Ireland – including the Welcome Organisation, Business in the Community NI, Arts & Business NI, Aspiring Solicitors and Inspire. We very much look forward to working with Simon Community NI in this latest partnership.”
